Start with set-up, not with tooling. AI Act compliance revolves around decisions software will not make for you: which systems you have, their risk class, who owns them, which policy applies and what evidence you want to be able to show. A consultant builds that foundation in weeks; after that, the software question is usually much smaller. No. Software can register, monitor and enforce workflows, but the core decisions remain human work: risk classification with reasoning, policy that fits your organization, ownership and supplier assessment. Without that set-up, every dashboard stays empty or, worse, falsely reassuring.
What does AI Act governance software cost?
Serious AI governance platforms quickly cost tens of thousands of euros per year in licences, before implementation.
